Biography
Soprano Elena Dragone Malakhovskaya
From an early age Elena was surrounded by music. Elena was born in a Siberian city of Kemerovo (Russia). At the age of 17, shortly after graduating from high school, she moved to Moscow in pursuit of her dream of becoming an opera singer. There, she was accepted to the elite Gnessin State Musical College ( Prof. Aida Gainanova).
She graduated in 2010 with the highest honors, and immediately applied to the prestigious St. Petersburg Conservatory to continue her education.
After passing a competitive audition, Elena was accepted to the conservatory on a full scholarship for the duration of the 5 year program. She studied under Professor Tamara Novichenko and graduated at the top of her class once again.
In 2015, Elena had her opening operatic debut in Saint-Petersburg, in Tchaikovsky’s «Eugene Onegin» opera in the lead role of Tatyana, and in Mozart’s «Così fan tutte» in the role of Fiordiligi.
She later pursued her passion for music to Italy, where opera was born, and started attending post-graduate vocal courses in Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
In 2019, debut in the role of Donna Elvira in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” under art direction of Barbara Frittoli (Broni, Teatro Carbonetti).
Now living in Europe, she attended various master classes hosted by singers, pianists and conductors from around the world.
Some of these included: Manfred Mayrhofer, Tito Capobianco, Howard Watkins, Claudio di Segni, Elizabeth Norberg-Shultz, Luca Gorla, Bruno De Simone, Sem Cerritelli, Alessandra Rossi, Eleonora Pacetti, Barbara Frittoli, Beatrice Benzi, Bruno Nicoli e Giovanna Canetti.
Elena has performed in various concerts around Italy, including the Sforza Castle in Milan, the Milanese Philological Circle, the Alessandro Volta Circle of Milan, the Giuseppe Verdi Foundation, the Philharmonic Hall (Sala Maffeiana) in beautiful Verona and the birthplace of Bergamo composer Gaetano Donizetti.
She performed in solo concerts at the Duomo of Cernobbio (Como) and the recital with the valuable aid of the Foundation la Società dei Concerti in Milan.
In 2019 Solo lyric Recital at Milan’s Elite Circle “Society of Garden”.
In 2020 Solo camber lyric Recital at the Hall of The Provveditori of the Municipality “Friends of The Music of Salò city” (Brescia).
In 2021 had a privileged opportunity to take a part of high level Master Class on the Main stage of Opera Royal de Wallonie-Liègi in Belgium.
In 2021 Solo lyric Recital at Santa Severina Cathedral ( Region Calarbia) in Italy with a Symphony Orchestra “Orfeo Stillo” conducted by Ferdinando Romano.
In 2022 Solo lyric Recital at the Hall of The “Amici del Loggione del Teatro alla Scala”, Milan.
In 2022 an italian debut as Fiordiligi in “Cosi fan tutte” in Milan ADADS (conductor Marco Beretta, stage director Alberto Oliva).
Elena has also performed in concerts in Rome – at the Norwegian embassy, at the Philharmonic Academy of Rome and at the Theater Marconi.
She is a participant and a laureate of many international vocal competitions, recently – the First Prize of the 35th edition of a liryc international competition “Piero Boni” in Milan.
Finalist 6th International Competition Lirico Città di Iseo.
Gaining increasing popularity in Italy, Elena has recently had the honor of being a guest of mass media, for example, Radio 24 Milano, where she was invited to participate in a broadcast dedicated to classical music “Musica, Maestro” and also “Executive Lounge” – the Radio of University Bocconi, Milan.
Elena continues her dedication to opera in Milan, where she currently resides.
